Description
Immaculée#3 Poster by Miles Aldridge
Discover the dazzling and cinematic photography of Miles Aldridge, the British artist known for his bold use of pop art, saturated colors, and dark humor. His works resemble stills from a film, fragments of surreal narratives, where glamorous, highly stylized compositions meet unsettling psychological undertones that challenge social conventions.
Since the mid-1990s, Aldridge has gained international acclaim for his distinctive visual language, referencing film noir, art history, and pop culture. A master colorist, he creates elaborate mise-en-scènes in sharp, vibrant hues. Beneath the glossy and often eroticized surfaces lies a deeper critique of society’s myths of domestic harmony and perfection. With over 25 years of experience, Aldridge is one of the few photographers today who continues to work predominantly with film.
This poster comes from his largest retrospective, Virgin Mary. Supermarkets. Popcorn. Photographs 1999–2020, exhibited at Fotografiska Stockholm. The show presented over 120 works, including collaborations such as (after Cattelan) with artist Maurizio Cattelan. The image depicts a striking portrait of a woman with red lipstick and a golden crown, a vivid example of Aldridge’s ability to blend beauty, artifice, and hidden tension.
