Discover the humorous and charming photography of Gerrard Gethings, one of the world’s leading animal portraitists. Born in northwest England, Gethings studied Fine Art Painting and Photography at Sheffield University before working with the iconic photographer Terry O’Neill for eight years. In 2008, after bringing home a border terrier puppy, he found his true calling in capturing the personalities of animals through photography.
This poster comes from his celebrated project Do You Look Like Your Dog, first launched in 2017 as a memory game featuring pairs of humans and their canine lookalikes. The motif depicts a side-by-side portrait of a man and a dog, styled to look strikingly similar, a witty and endearing commentary on the connections between humans and their pets.
Beloved for his playful yet sophisticated approach, Gethings’ work has gained international acclaim for elevating animal portraiture into contemporary art.
