Invigning Slussen Poster
Capture a historic moment in Swedish urban development with this photograph of Slussen in Stockholm, taken during its grand inauguration in 1935. Long before the new construction was completed, the area had been notorious among Stockholmers for its congestion and was often referred to as “Slusseneländet” (the Slussen misery). The opening of the modern traffic hub in the 1930s was therefore greeted with great relief and celebration.
This poster was part of the exhibition News Flash - A Century of News at Fotografiska Stockholm, which presents a time travel through the vast photo archive of the Swedish news agency TT, spanning from 1921 to today.
