The work shows Stefano Saldarelli, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 after his wife discovered a lump on his chest. Mariniello photographed him as part of her project raising awareness of male breast cancer — an often overlooked experience that accounts for around 1% of all breast cancer diagnoses and can be particularly isolating.
