Description
From the series Berlin Pubs Poster by Helga Paris
This poster features a work by Helga Paris (1938–2024), one of Germany’s most significant photographers, from her exhibition Für uns, currently on view at Fotografiska Berlin. Known for her quiet presence and poetic eye, Paris documented everyday life with empathy, respect, and a rare sensitivity to human connection.
From the late 1960s to the early 2000s, she captured people and environments in East Berlin and across Europe, often in black and white, with a painter’s sense of light and composition. Für uns presents a selection of lesser-known photographs from her archive, family portraits, playful masquerades, and moments of care, friendship, and reflection. The exhibition stands as both a memorial and a tribute to an artist who, with every soft click of the camera, said: “I see you.”
