The image captures the surreal intersection of Earth’s landscapes and humanity’s dreams of space exploration.
Matjaž Tančič (b. 1982) is a photographic artist working between China and Slovenia. His practice moves between documentary, portrait, and art photography, engaging with pressing social and cultural questions. Known for his experimental use of the medium, including celebrated 3D stereography projects, Tančič pushes the boundaries of how photography can tell stories.
This work is part of Fotografiska’s exhibition Space - A Visual Journey (2024), where artistic expression meets scientific discovery. Featuring 13 internationally recognized photographers, the exhibition explores humanity’s timeless fascination with the cosmos and our place within it.
