During the final months of her life, Mary Nike invited Wilde into her home in Australia to photograph her with her daughter and granddaughter during their final visit together. Living with metastatic cancer following a breast cancer diagnosis ten years earlier, she wanted to be photographed in the way she wished to be remembered. The photograph reflects on family, care, and connection across generations at the end of life.
